You don't have to look like a jailbird when wearing stripes. Thin, vertical stripes on dress shirts and pants with give you length. Most people will say that horizontal stripes will make you look wider/bigger, I say if you wear a thicker stripe it will counter the effect. Mix stripes with solid colours  for a safer approachor with prints for a more fun and funky look. And you dont have to be restricted to just the normal and boring black and white/ blue and white! Go crazy, have fun......
